Looking after the calf muscle

This happened last year: a few weeks before the Snowdon Mountain Race I strained a calf muscle and had to swap running for cycling. This time it’s not so bad, but I’ve still had to stop running for a week; I don’t want to be running up Mt Snowdon with a calf strain.

So, this week has seen a great 45 mile cycle ride together with some shorter ones and only one short test run, which seemed to indicate the calf is ok; it’s still sore but not when running — strange.

Total for week: 3
Barefoot: 0
