Mo Farah and barefoot running

Good to see Mo Farah winning the New York City half marathon on Sunday in a new British record of 60.23. Since announcing last month that he is moving to the US, Farah has achieved some remarkable results: European 5000m indoor record, European indoor 3000m champion, and now a new British Half Marathon record.
Mo is now coached by Alberto Salazar who won 3 consecutive New York Marathons in the early 80s.
An article in the Times newspaper today describes how Salazar reckons that Mo is full of even greater potential.
Very interestingly Salazar is planning to use 2 strategies to further develop Mo’s running prowess: the first is an underwater treadmill, and the second is barefoot running.
What is also interesting is that Salazar’s training camp is based in Oregon at the Nike campus.
