Years running: around 2, but only at the last 5 months got into it for real.

Typical weekly mileage: 23 miles (around 37 km)

Usual running terrain: road

Experience going barefoot (whilst not running): none

Any pre-existing injuries, niggles: no

Usual running footwear: Saucony cohesion nx

Usual foot-strike style: guess that will be hill

Reasons for running barefoot: seems more natural, maybe less/prevent  injuries

Any relevant expertise: not really

I do use insoles when I wear shoes (not only for running). will be interesting to see how it’s going without them

the 2nd run wasn’t that good…

I went out yesterday for my 2nd barefoot run. after a few minutes my gastrocnemius (calf) started to hurt for real and also my feet didn’t feel so good. Tried to run mainly on grass (and the feet felt better) but couldn’t run as long as I wanted. now my gastrocnemius are still shrunken and sore and I feel them in every step…

Changes in your running style that you’ve noticed: not so much, trying no to think about it but I guess that there is a change without shoes.
Injuries incurred, or reduction of existing symptoms:no
Useful tips and nuggets of info you’ve picked up along the way: YA – not to start running barefoot as if with shoes. It takes time to adapt – especially the calf. I was told that it may take up to 6 weeks. the last time I ran +-2/3 with shoes (around 35 min.) and 1/3 barefoot (20 min.). I put the shoes in a little bag. That was really good
