4-9-10:
Ran 2 miles after first building my hauraches. Went really well other than some knot issues.
I used the recipe at:
www.invisibleshoe.com
I found the 4 mm cherry by asking my local shoe repair guy if he had any to sell. He said no but told me where he, and apparently all the other shoe repair shops in Chicago, buy the stuff.
I bought a sheet of it for $24 and built my first pair of hauraches.
First run: 2 miles on Chicago’s lakefront path. Went well except for some of the small gravel getting between foot and sole.
Sore left achilles after went away after a couple of days.
Second run: 3 miles. Went well. Ricks less an issue. Soreness same.
Third run: 3 miles. Running with a kid who is faster than me so I had to pick it up. Was able to run much faster no problem but very sore for a couple of days again.
I am getting a little frustrated over not being able to bump up the distance. I have a 10 mile race in a week and would like to run it barefoot. If not, I can run in my Newton’s, which is probably the next best thing.
