{"id":1512,"date":"2010-07-26T21:32:53","date_gmt":"2010-07-26T20:32:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/?p=1512"},"modified":"2010-09-26T19:40:07","modified_gmt":"2010-09-26T18:40:07","slug":"snowdon-mountain-race","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/snowdon-mountain-race\/","title":{"rendered":"Snowdon Mountain Race"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Firstly, I should say that no, I didn&#8217;t run up and down Snowdon barefoot.<\/p>\n<p>However, it&#8217;s been quite an eventful week.<br \/>\nI managed a 3.5 mile barefoot run on Tuesday, and I must be quite confident because this was just 4 days before the mountain race (that&#8217;s certainly not something anyone wants to do with sore feet). My diary says my feet were sore after this run, but they obviously recovered fully before my trip to Wales.<br \/>\nIt is a mad race for sure: 5 miles up, and 5 miles down.<br \/>\nRunning down typically takes half the time to run up; the best descend in a shade over 20 minutes. Seeing the lead runners coming down is, quite simply, awesome. These guys are a breed apart from the best road runners; running near 4-minute miles down a steep rocky path is not for the fainthearted!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve run this race 3 times now and somehow managed my best time yet, but I should be quicker, especially going up.<br \/>\nMy feet were very comfortable in my Roclite 315.
