{"id":1827,"date":"2011-01-12T17:55:06","date_gmt":"2011-01-12T17:55:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/?p=1827"},"modified":"2011-01-12T17:55:06","modified_gmt":"2011-01-12T17:55:06","slug":"happy-new-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/happy-new-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Happy New Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Aqua-Shoes.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1828\" src=\"https:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Aqua-Shoes-300x254.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"254\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Aqua-Shoes-300x254.jpg 300w, https:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Aqua-Shoes-1024x870.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I trust you all had a good time over Christmas and New Year.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously the snow kept the barefoot running down to zero as I wasn&#8217;t prepared to pull a ligament on the ice, even in aqua shoes.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see from above they&#8217;re beginning to take a bashing, so I&#8217;m not sure how long they will last, but they are doing the job.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been out twice in them recently and run around 6 miles each time &#8211; the first by accident. \u00a0I was moving up to around 5 miles but hadn&#8217;t realised I had turned the volume down on my iPhone by mistake. \u00a0I use the RunKeeper app on there and usually it tells me how many miles I have run, but this time it didn&#8217;t. \u00a0When I got back to the office I found out that it was over 6, so the furthest I have run barefoot\/transition.<\/p>\n<p>At times my pace\/form did feel a bit lumpy, but given the distance I&#8217;m not surprised. \u00a0But I was very pleased that I&#8217;ve got to the stage where I can just go out for a run now, without worrying too much how far it will be.<\/p>\n<p>There was some tightness in my right Achilles tendon and sensitivity in my left knee, but the pounding on my soles was fine.<\/p>\n<p>Today I braved the torrential rain and ran another five and a half miles around town &#8211; tight calves but better form, I think.<\/p>\n<p>So all in all, a good start to the New Year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I trust you all had a good time over Christmas and New Year.
