{"id":2651,"date":"2011-11-20T14:46:51","date_gmt":"2011-11-20T14:46:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/?p=2651"},"modified":"2011-11-20T14:46:51","modified_gmt":"2011-11-20T14:46:51","slug":"week-15","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/week-15\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 15"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Total weekly miles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a06.9 miles.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Number of running sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Total weekly barefoot mile<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>0\u00a0miles.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Number of barefoot running sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>0.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Running terrain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mostly flat, one steep hill, on a mixture of pavement and grass.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ground surface of barefoot runs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>N.A.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Runs in minimalist shoes, e.g. Five Fingers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>RunAmocs on all 3 runs.\u00a0 Again, just too cold to go barefoot.\u00a0 I kind of doubt I&#8217;ll be able to go barefoot again till Spring now.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Weather for barefoot runs (rain on road?)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>N.A.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Condition of skin on feet \u2014 hotspots, blisters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Good.\u00a0 No side-effects of wearing my RunAmocs so far.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interesting\/amusing comments received during the week: e.g. \u2018You\u2019ve got no shoes on!\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nothing.\u00a0 Like I\u00a0said last week, with my RunAmocs,\u00a0I have something on my feet, whether they look like trainers or not.\u00a0 So I don&#8217;t expect anyone to say anything.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Treading on nasty things: e.g. glass, thorns, poo \u2014 how you dealt with any<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No problems this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Changes in your running style that you\u2019ve noticed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Still noticing a more mid-foot type footstrike.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not convinced it&#8217;s got anything to do with getting tired at the end of a run and losing my form, because it&#8217;s pretty consistent through the run.\u00a0 Two things I&#8217;ve been thinking of this week though, firstly, how do I run fast in this new running form?\u00a0 I&#8217;m not supposed to push off with my toes&#8230;\u00a0 Quickening my stride just shortens my stride length&#8230; How on earth am I supposed to sprint?\u00a0 Something I&#8217;ll have to work on I suppose.\u00a0 Secondly, running downhill is something I need to work on as well.\u00a0 I&#8217;m trying to follow Barefoot Ken Bob&#8217;s method of almost allowing your legs to collapse under you as you go down to minimise impact and braking.\u00a0 But it&#8217;s hard on the quads!\u00a0 I need to get this down because where I live there are a lot of hills!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Injuries incurred, or reduction of existing symptoms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Still noticing calf\u00a0tiredness at the end of\u00a0runs.\u00a0 But I\u00a0expect this will go away as I get fitter.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Useful tips and nuggets of info you\u2019ve picked up along the way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0None this week.<\/p>\n<p>Since this week went well, I&#8217;ll increase the distance again next week.\u00a0 3 runs of 2.6 miles.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Total weekly miles \u00a06.9 miles.
