{"id":3121,"date":"2012-06-06T10:12:07","date_gmt":"2012-06-06T09:12:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/?p=3121"},"modified":"2012-06-06T18:07:19","modified_gmt":"2012-06-06T17:07:19","slug":"wek-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/wek-27\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 27"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Total weekly miles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Second week of heart rate training &#8211; 30.3 miles in total.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Number of running sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>4 (2&#215;60 minutes, 1&#215;90 minute, 1x105minutes)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Total weekly barefoot mile<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>8\u00a0miles.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Number of barefoot running sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Running terrain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mostly flat, on a mixture of pavement, dirt tracks and road.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ground surface of barefoot runs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mixtture of pavement, grass and dirt tracks.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Runs in minimalist shoes, e.g. Five Fingers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lunas when not barefoot.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Weather for barefoot runs (rain on road?)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One run in pouring rain, others dry but cool.\u00a0 I ended up having to take off my Lunas in the rain, the footbed just got too slippery and uncomfortable.\u00a0 I was a bit worried about running barefoot in the rain, I&#8217;ve had problems with this before, but my form has obviously improved since the last time I&#8217;ve tried it.\u00a0 I had great fun splashing through puddles!\u00a0 I even waded through a small flooded area where the water came almost up to my knees!\u00a0 I would never have done that in my trainers!\u00a0 That&#8217;s part of why I love being able to run barefoot so much.\u00a0 Your shoes (or sandals) hurt?\u00a0 Take them off and carry on!\u00a0 You&#8217;re faced with a flood?\u00a0 Just wade through it and enjoy the water between your toes!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Condition of skin on feet \u2014 hotspots, blisters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Still fine!\u00a0 Had a bit of a fright when I took my sandals off in the rain, there were red stains on my feet.\u00a0 I thought I might have cut myself, but then realised it was the red dye from my laces bleeding out in the rain!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interesting\/amusing comments received during the week: e.g. \u2018You\u2019ve got no shoes on!\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>None, but lots of odd looks (that I interpreted as jealousy!) when people saw me splashing through the rain barefoot!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Treading on nasty things: e.g. glass, thorns, poo \u2014 how you dealt with any<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>None this week.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Changes in your running style that you\u2019ve noticed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Still feeling slow this week.\u00a0 But I think my cadance has increased a bit at a heart rate of 144bpm.\u00a0 It feels a bit more like my usual\/previous running style.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Injuries incurred, or reduction of existing symptoms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>None.\u00a0 I&#8217;m still a bit shocked and very pleased at this!\u00a0 30.3 miles in a week is by far and away my highest weekly mileage ever, and to do it and still feel so fresh and uninjured\u00a0afterwards just blows me away.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Useful tips and nuggets of info you\u2019ve picked up along the way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>None really.\u00a0 I&#8217;m still enjoying the distance and discipline this is giving me.\u00a0 Plus the fact that I can run so far and for so long without tiredness means that I can explore new areas that I would not have been able to reach before.\u00a0 Got some interesting new running routes lined up for the next few weeks!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Total weekly miles Second week of heart rate training &#8211; 30.3 miles in total.
