{"id":3180,"date":"2012-06-26T14:33:59","date_gmt":"2012-06-26T13:33:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/?p=3180"},"modified":"2012-06-26T14:33:59","modified_gmt":"2012-06-26T13:33:59","slug":"week-30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/week-30\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 30"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Total weekly miles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>4 hours of running, don&#8217;t know how far.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Number of running sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An easy week of 4x1hour runs.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Total weekly barefoot mile<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>None, I ran shod to give the blister I developed last week a chance to heal.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Number of barefoot running sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Running terrain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mostly flat, on a mixture of pavement, dirt tracks and road.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ground surface of barefoot runs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>N\/A<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Runs in minimalist shoes, e.g. Five Fingers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3 runs in my Vivobarefoot Evos, with socks.\u00a0 I thought the added padding of socks would help the blister.\u00a0 Last run in my Lunas.\u00a0 I put the hemp laces on this time, as my leather ones are too short after wearing through the knot a couple of times on each sandal.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Weather for barefoot runs (rain on road?)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>N\/A<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Condition of skin on feet \u2014 hotspots, blisters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Blister is slowly healing.\u00a0 The dead skin tore off very early, which is why I&#8217;ve tried running with socks and shoes for the first time in months.\u00a0 It has helped, the skin is toughening up quite quickly, but still a bit too thin to run barefoot on at the moment.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interesting\/amusing comments received during the week: e.g. \u2018You\u2019ve got no shoes on!\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>None, but I saw a few people having a good stare this week!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Treading on nasty things: e.g. glass, thorns, poo \u2014 how you dealt with any<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nothing this week.\u00a0 I think the glass shard last week has reminded me that I need to be a bit more aware of my surroundings!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Changes in your running style that you\u2019ve noticed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Well, after a week of relative rest (I still find it amazing that I can run for 4 sessions of 1 hour each in a week, probably covering between 20-25 miles and still call it a rest week!), I decided to check my last run against what I have been able to do before.\u00a0 Without straining, and keeping my heart rate at around 140 throughout the whole run, I manged to run roughly half a mile further than before on my standard route that I&#8217;ve been avoiding for the last couple of weeks!\u00a0 So I think I&#8217;m improving!\u00a0 My running style is coming back as well, I feel like I can move my feet relaively quickly, no plodding to keep the heart rate down.\u00a0 It&#8217;s getting more comfortable now after 5 weeks.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Injuries incurred, or reduction of existing symptoms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>None.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Useful tips and nuggets of info you\u2019ve picked up along the way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>None really.\u00a0 I suppose the importance of having a rest week every 3-4 weeks&#8230;\u00a0 But that&#8217;s not very original!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Total weekly miles 4 hours of running, don&#8217;t know how far.
