{"id":3205,"date":"2012-07-16T10:59:09","date_gmt":"2012-07-16T09:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/?p=3205"},"modified":"2012-07-16T10:59:09","modified_gmt":"2012-07-16T09:59:09","slug":"week-33","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/runningtrainingplan.com\/runningpress\/week-33\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 33"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Total weekly miles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Rubbish week this week due to a bad cold.\u00a0 Grand total of 2.5 hours of running, roughly 15 miles.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Number of running sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2 runs, one of 90 mins, the other one hour.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Total weekly barefoot miles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>About 2.5 miles barefoot this week.\u00a0 I took my sandals off for the last mile or so home for both of my runs.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Number of barefoot running sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Running terrain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mostly flat, on a mixture of pavement, dirt tracks and road.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ground surface of barefoot runs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pavement and road.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Runs in minimalist shoes, e.g. Five Fingers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lunas with leather laces for all my runs this week.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Weather for barefoot runs (rain on road?)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Warm and dry both times.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Condition of skin on feet \u2014 hotspots, blisters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fine.\u00a0 No problems from the couple of miles I ran.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interesting\/amusing comments received during the week: e.g. \u2018You\u2019ve got no shoes on!\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>None.\u00a0 I saw another guy running with VFFs on, we passed on the pavement.\u00a0 I said hello, but I think he was intimidated by my bare feet because he blanked me.\u00a0 Maybe he was feeling hard-core, out running &#8220;barefoot&#8221;, and then saw me, actuallybarefoot, and thought, wow, look at that weirdo&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Treading on nasty things: e.g. glass, thorns, poo \u2014 how you dealt with any<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Again, nothing.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Changes in your running style that you\u2019ve noticed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>None really.\u00a0 What I said last week still stands, I feel comfortable at this slow pace, and my running form is good.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Injuries incurred, or reduction of existing symptoms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>None.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Useful tips and nuggets of info you\u2019ve picked up along the way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I know the old adage is that if the cold is below the neck, you rest and\u00a0if it&#8217;s above the neck, you train through it.\u00a0 But I&#8217;ve got my own\u00a0slant on\u00a0that&#8230;\u00a0 If you have a cold and you&#8217;re not an elite athlete, just pack it in for a couple of days.\u00a0 Running is supposed to be fun!\u00a0 There&#8217;s nothing fun about dragging yourself around leaving a trail of luminous green snot behind you.\u00a0 Whether the snot is from above or below the neck is pretty much irrelevent!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Total weekly miles Rubbish week this week due to a bad cold.\u00a0 Grand total of 2.5 hours of running, roughly 15 miles.
