Unfortunately I did not take everyone&#8217;s advice and did too much too soon. My first barefoot run felt so good that I ran close to 4 miles on cement. At the end of the run I had a number of blood blisters around the balls of my feet. Other than the blisters, it was a wonderful experience and I had a great time.<\/p>\n<p>Two days later, I decided to try another barefoot run, slower this time, and see if I could work around the blisters. I managed another 2.5 to\u00a03 miles, alibet at a much slower pace (around 10 minutes per mile), and I did not suffer any new blisters.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the week my mileage was mostly in shoes (race trainers from Asics).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Although I have been running in Vibram Five Fingers for a few months, off and on, last week I decided to try complete barefoot running for the first time.
