Foot sore (and fancy free)

My barefoot running usually involves taking off my shoes and socks towards the end of a longer run. Last night I decided to run the last 0.75 miles of a 7.25 mile run barefoot.

My barefoot experience started at the bottom of a hill, the surface of which was rough tarmac. My feet were already a little moist and soft, and the road surface felt prickly and uncomfortable. At least it took my mind off the hill itself!  At the top of the hill the tarmac was smoother and I was able to run more naturally, although my feet felt pretty sore. I couldn’t have managed more, and the soles of my feet felt hot for the remainder of the evening.

That is the total of my barefoot running this week, and it is a whole week since I ran barefoot. I think my feet will cope better if I run barefoot more frequently!!!
