Monday saw us running our hash from Coxley near Wells. It was a beautiful evening and a nice undulating route and I felt good and strong but by Wednesday I had come down with a streaming cold so I ended up not running again until Sunday and missed out on barefoot running completely.
I was running again on Sunday but we had to recce our routes for next weekend’s Uphill to Wells Relay. Basically it’s the same 30 mile route that I ran for the Mendip Challenge in June, but run in the opposite direction as a relay race, with teams of six (and some solos).
My leg is from Draycott to Priddy – only 3.5 miles but the first mile has 760 feet of climb. I managed to do it in 35 minutes but my target on race day is sub 29 – so hopefully the cold will have completely cleared by then.
Week 14 Summary
Total Miles – 9.5 mainly cross country, dry
Barefoot Miles – 0
Transition Miles – 0
