Sunday: 5.5mi run with Max on bike. Weather was good, sidewalks were a bit pebbly and twigs and bits of tree had blown down on the path. Feet were a little sensitive going over that, but good feeling overall. Recovery, great!
Monday: 2miles on the treadmill in my minimal shoes (adizero racing flats)
Thursday: 5mi barefoot run after the rain, pushing the jogger. No rawness, no blisters. Good run! The ground was a bit cold and my feet were numb feeling the first few miles. Arches were a little achy.
Saturday: 14mi 2h23min. Started out strong, form started to fall apart toward the end when my feet were just feeling pretty sore from the chip seal path. Hopped off into the grass quite a bit which felt amazingly refreshing on my feet after the hot rough surface of the bike path. Feet were just a little raw after the run, arches were also sore. It’s 14hrs post run and my arches are pretty sore. Because of my upcoming half, I tried to run it at a comfortable race pace (which is still considerably slower than my shod pace) which might have attributed to the sore arches. My arches seem to get sore when I try to do my runs too fast. Hoping that with time, as my arches continue to strengthen, I can add speed without ending up with achy arches.
Overall, good week.
