For the seven days we will be out working in the Gulf off the coast of Saudi Arabia it will be barefoot living almost all day. We’re living on a boat and working on a beach in 50 degree heat so there is nowhere to run but my feet and legs will have the benefit of barefoot walking.
On the beach the sand consistency varies greatly from powder-like dust to sharp grains and shell fragments. It means your soles do become tender from time to time but I’m hoping the sun and very salty water will help improve my ailing nails, as the last of my dead one has started to drop away.
The swimming off the boat I think will be good for my left knee and a two weeks complete break from running has to help. So let’s hope it improves.
