I’m back in Saudi Arabia again, and haven’t even had time to hit the treadmills so I’m missing my running.
The first time I was here this year I was desperately trying to keep up my fitness as I neared the end of my training for a 30-mile cross-country hill run. It was a major challenge and the goal at the end of 6 months’ training. Inadvertently it also turned into the beginning
For the seven days we will be out working in the Gulf off the coast of Saudi Arabia it will be barefoot living almost all day. We’re living on a boat and working on a beach in 50 degree heat so there is nowhere to run but my feet and legs will have the benefit of barefoot walking.
On the beach the sand consistency varies greatly from powder-like dust to sharp grains and shell fragments.
I’m off to Saudi for ten days and as almost all of this will be spent on a boat moored of a desert island, with 45 degree heat and 90% humidity… …there’s not going to be any running.
Although I will really miss using my body in this way I am hoping it will give time for my knees to relax and ease of the strain. I will be taking my Vivos and there will be a lot of opportunity
