This week has flown by and we set the Hash on Monday, which entailed a recce and also the running of it with the club, so all in all we ran it three times and it left us quite tired. Also, we’re going away for a long weekend on Thursday so I really wasn’t sure when I would fit another run in, let alone a barefoot one. Tired Now
The 9-mile run back last night was very hard work – not because of the wind and rain but just because I was tired by the end of the day. My knees seemed to ache alternately and randomly – so I can’t detect a pattern there yet.
I had hoped to have another barefoot run this week, but it doesn’t look like I’ll have the time – maybe at the weekend.
2nd September — Barefoot run 11
This evening’s 8 mile road run ended with my first barefoot run in the rain.
I wasn’t sure what to expect. I know that cycling in the wet exposes tyres to a greater risk of puncture. There seems to be various reasons for this: more debris on the road, debris sticking to the tyres, and probably most likely is that water lubricates any sharp objects helping them penetrate the rubber.
