Total weekly miles: 11 miles
Total BF miles: 11 miles
Barefoot Sessions: 4
Terrain: Asphalt and trails.
Weather: Cool weather and rain. Some sunny days.
Condition of Feet: Feet are healthy with no quirks or aches to speak of. Amazing!
Comments: Smiles and polite interest. Norwegians are still too polite to say anything. Even Norwegian kids.
Nasty things: Ran on duck poop several times.
Changes in Running Style: Finding it easier to keep the cadence up. Finding my pace increasing as well. Need to find a cruising speed.
Injuries: No injuries or pain this week. Not even an ache.
Wisdom McNuggets: I seem to have found the right formula for the transition. I am running my old pattern, 4 or 5 times a week, two or three times in a row. When I have run a given distance, say 2.5 miles, without problems four times in a row, I bump up the distance 10 percent. I finished this week at 2.75 miles per session and should hit 3 miles next week.
The higher cadence drills I have been doing has closed several loops for me as far as form goes. Between this and my barefoot Morton’s Toe orthotic, I have not even had a twinge from that problem. I also discovered how to distribute weight to add speed. Fun stuff this week.
