I’m training (supposed to be training) for the Bristol Half Marathon, and as I’ve just had two weeks with no running I need to work on my speed, so it’s time for some of the dreaded intervals on The Downs.
The good news is that I don’t have any blisters or soreness from the barefoot run yesterday at all and no Achilles tendon tension in the morning. This seems like progress.
It was a hard run but good. I run a series of four repeating 60 second cycles at increasing paces: – recovery, steady, 10k and sprint. This time I managed to stick with the sprint (or as close as I get to a sprint) for the whole minute. I did the whole circuit in 21:30.
