A busy week this week, so in the end I didn’t manage to fit in a Park and Stride or a second barefoot run. So, this morning we ran along the Mendip Way to Wells and back with Millie, our dog – about 13 miles all round. Very tired at the end, which shows how quickly you can lose your fitness, or else I was trying too hard in places.
We stopped in Wells for Millie to get a drink and when I started running again I felt some stiffness in my arches, which surprise me, but it soon went and wasn’t an issue at the end. So that’s good.
Both knees felt a little stiff, and that they had done a lot of work, but otherwise were OK. I get the impression that the muscles are getting stronger around them, that they are adapting. Let’s see.
I wore my Vivo Barefoots after to help continue the good work.
Week 6 Summary:
Total Miles: 20, mainly cross country, earth & stone paths, grass, mainly dry.
Barefoot Miles: 1.0, grass, earth paths, tarmac and pavement, dry.
Transition Miles: 0.7, pavement, grass & earth paths, dry.
