Well that toe issue I posted about is gone in the Vibrams. It really hurt walking the half mile to class and half mile back. Super annoying. But I got back home, popped, drained, and cleaned the blister again. After that it was totally fine. As predicted, the Vibrams were perfect for running in them. Unlike BF, when my toes are touching more and that one toe is slightly under the adjacent one, the
Week 1 cont..
My fourth toe on the right side that was bothering me during the BF run a couple days ago has a pretty good blister on it that I had to pop. It’s bothering me during walking a bit since the bottom of the toe is a bit under the one next to it, so it’s getting pressed on each time I step.
I think it will be ok in Vibrams though, since the shoe separates the toes so it will not be
Introduction
I am a very slow runner. I have always just taken my time and have a high cadence and am light on my feet. I have noticed I tend not to heel strike very much and I wonder if this is partly the reason I have been largely injury free. My name is Bev and I’m 42, (for a little while longer at least!)
I started running 8.5 years ago, but took a year or so out within that time to have my son. He has just turned 6, so I guess I have been running consistently for 5.5 years.
Currently I’m running about 40 miles per week. I’d like to do more, but life is a bit too busy for that at the moment. Most of my runs are on the
It’s been a long winter
Here in the UK the winter of 2009/10 has seemed very long. The lowest temperatures for many years and more snow than many (younger) people can remember or have ever known.
Not good for the rookie barefoot runner then.
This particular rookie is very glad to welcome some slightly warmer weather. Last Friday, 2nd April, I ventured out on my longest barefoot run for some weeks — 2.5 miles on
