I had a much needed “down” week this week. A combination of the last 3 weeks milage increase and being out of town convinced me that I was due for a bit less milage. I play in a rock band for a living and the one problem I am seeing is that I have to do runs when I am not on my home turf. Week 12: 20miles total w/e 4/25/2010
Monday 2mi sock run on treadmill. Easy, quick run
Wednesday: 11.5mi long run, barefoot. Feet were great until about mile 9 or so..then the rawness and overstimulation kicked in and I felt every little pebble. Good run overall, feet recovered very quickly
Saturday: Wow, PR feel good barefoot run! No clue my exact distance somewhere around 6.5-7mi of pure bliss..Started off with dh and kids, running
Week 2: A little bit of pain
Total weekly miles: 21 miles.
Total BF miles: 3.5
Barefoot Sessions: 4
Terrain: Ran the majority over gravel, but I did run over gravel and trails. Did about a mile on trails.
No minimalist shoes, ran the balance of the route in regular running shoes.
Weather: Was wetter, but did have some sun. Some snow while in Oslo.
Condition of Feet: Some TOFP has been developing this week, almost totally in the right

So I took off my shoes and ran and got a…..”you know those are supposed to go on your feet right?” I smiled and laughed and continued on my merry way=). Lots of looks today too, d/t running on some busier streets…..if they only tried it 😉

Rumblings regarding week 4
Well, I was unable to do any running this weekend. First it was because of the camp out I took my son on. Then it turns out I had a bad burger at a local road-side dinner on Friday night and all Saturday/Sunday I was sick in bed with some kind of stomach flu. Oh well, life happens. 🙂

Week 2: Keeping Up Some, Holding Back Other
Did a .5 mi session over the weekend. Felt great. The 4th toes, where I was getting some blisters previously, seem to be much improved. I think the foot lift is getting much better.
I’m still struggling with heel pain post run – whether barefoot or with shoes. I’ve decided to stop the shoe running and focus on strength training for the feet/ankles. I’ll continue
