I’m supposed to be building up for Bristol Half Marathon in September – we entered months ago. If I had kept up my training from the Mendip Challenge it would be a breeze but, alas, although I have been regularly running since then I have not maintained the distances – even with my Park and Strides. And from Monday, for two weeks, I will be away, so this is a last chance to
6th Barefoot Run
The tendon on my fibula still seems a little weird but it’s time for another barefoot run.
I was just reading a new post on a barefoot runner blog on Runners World’s website and it does strike me that we’re all very keen to embrace new techniques with little sense of patience – and I am no exception. Reading how someone else has leapt in at the deep end, reaped the consequences
To Wells and Back
A busy week this week, so in the end I didn’t manage to fit in a Park and Stride or a second barefoot run. So, this morning we ran along the Mendip Way to Wells and back with Millie, our dog – about 13 miles all round. No idea where this has come from,
Snowdon Mountain Race
Firstly, I should say that no, I didn’t run up and down Snowdon barefoot.
However, it’s been quite an eventful week.
I managed a 3.5 mile barefoot run on Tuesday, and I must be quite confident because this was just 4 days before the mountain race (that’s certainly not something anyone wants to do with sore feet). My diary says my feet were sore after this run, but they obviously
What’s Going On With My Knees?
I’m feeling a slight sensitivity in the small toes of my left foot, so maybe they;re being abraded now, rather than the balls of that foot.
Also my knees still seem sore and there is no clear pattern to this. I’m hoping they are just getting used to carrying more weight/stress, as the impact on my heels lessens, and they will adjust in their own time. It is worrying – I’m not
